The same kind of teleport happens in the first sphere in old Aperture when all the lights come on. It's a teleport trigger that sends you to the same relative place in a nearly-identical room with the lights off, and no bridge. Here's a little more info about these from a post I made in another thread:įun fact: the bridge doesn't actually shut off. The first is in The Escape chapter, when Wheatley breaks you out of GLaDOS' testing track, and the second is the first enrichment sphere in old Aperture. You get to see everything come crashing down from an outside perspective.Īlso, there are two chambers that are almost completely duplicated due to lighting, and as a result, you can explore them with both the lights on, and the lights off. Noclipping in the very first level (the one where Wheatley is driving your relaxation chamber around) is fun. I like how Valve showed the evolution of GLaDOS' chamber, first it was man-made and full of the equipment the scientists used, and it was much bigger, but when GLaDOS had the opportunity to redesign it to her liking, she took out what wasn't needed, it became more simplified and more like computers built it rather than humans, and funnily enough it has more of a Combine-feel to the environment, which I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, it's one of my favorite parts of the game though, that and Old Aperture. I like noclipping in the very vast and almost endless areas like GLaDOS' chamber, it's interesting seeing the different stages they go in, some details I noticed were GLaDOS' cables which are underground the chamber, covered in blue, red highlights which I think represents the link between the modules and GLaDOS, and outside the chamber you can see what appears to be box-shaped objects with wires connecting to the chassis, and later on in the game outside GLaDOS' rebuilt chamber, you can see them again and you'll notice that much of the hole in the roof has been fixed, obviously to keep hidden from the outside, and the ground the chamber once stood one has been replaced with a bottomless pit, leading to the older areas of the facility, the scale is pretty amazing.
